Chimichanga (Mexican Recipe) Sweet And Salty

Chimichanga: the original recipe

This chimichanga recipe is the same as the one made in the state of Sonora. If you are thinking of having a Mexican night or a theme party, don’t forget to prepare it. The ingredients you will need are the following:

  • 300 g flour.
  • 100 g of butter.
  • Required amount of water.
  • Salt.
  • 150 g of bacon.
  • 100 g of pork.
  • 350 g of beef.
  • Half an onion.
  • 1 tomato.
  • Half lettuce.
  • Oil.
  • Chiltepin chili.

To prepare the tortillas you have to first mix the butter with the salt and the flour. Then add  a little water to be able to work the dough until it is smooth.

The next step is to divide by small buns of dough, wrapping them in a bag and finally put them in the fridge for half an hour, wrap in a bag and place in the fridge for half an hour. Lastly,  stretch them out as much as possible to make them thin .

Preparation of the chimichangas filling

As for the preparation of the filling in this recipe, the first thing you should do is heat the oil in the pan to fry the bacon a little and then add the pork and beef.

When everything is half cooked, add the chili and the chopped onion. On the other hand, spread an omelette and first add lettuce and chopped tomatoes. On top it serves a little of the fried meat. Finally roll up the stuffed tortilla and fry it a little so that they are golden brown.

Chimichanga recipe with chicken or beef

This recipe can be prepared for lunch or dinner, it is very quick and easy. You will leave everyone speechless!

Ingredients (for 5 people)

  • Half a kg of shredded beef or chicken.
  • 3 large potatoes.
  • 1 kg of medium-size flour tortillas.
  • Vegetable oil.
  • 3 tomatoes.
  • 1 lettuce .
  • 1 onion.
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 pot of cream.
  • Mayonnaise.
  • Fresh cheese.
  • Salt, pepper and oregano.

The first step is to peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Then boil them with water and a little salt. Mix the shredded meat with the boiled potatoes and season.

On the other hand, place a little oil in the pan and add the two crushed garlic cloves and two of the tomatoes cut into quarters. Then add the salt and pepper to your liking and let it cool. Then, pass all these ingredients together with a little dry organ ground through the blender to make the sauce.

When you have the sauce ready, chop the lettuce into strips and the remaining tomato in cubes. The onion is cut into strips and the cheese is crumbled.

In each flour tortilla, add the potato and chicken or beef mixture and roll each tortilla. Then fry them in hot oil to brown. When you’re done, you can place them on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.

When you’re done, spread them with mayonnaise or a sauce that you like and add the tomato, lettuce, onion and cheese salad. Finally, pour in a little cream and a few tablespoons of the blended sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 flour tortillas.
  • Half chopped mango.
  • 80 grams of unsalted margarine.
  • 1 orange separated into segments.
  • 10 sliced ​​strawberries.
  • 1 tablespoon of icing sugar.
  • Cinnamon powder.

Preparation

First mix the fruits in a bowl and add the cinnamon and sugar. Then, put a little oil or vegetable spray in a pan and heat the tortillas.

Then fill each one with the fruit mixture. When you have filled the tortillas, fry them a little in the pan and before serving, sprinkle with icing sugar or ground cinnamon. Some choose to top it with some vanilla ice cream or cream.
